Lisa Mastny is a seasoned communications strategist, editor and researcher passionate about sustainable living and equitable development. At OneEarth Living, she provides strategy and communications support focused on mainstreaming one-planet lifestyles. She holds master’s degrees in environmental management and international relations from Yale University and a bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins. 

Lisa provides editing, research, communications, strategy and website support to international agencies, non-governmental organizations, and other institutions specializing in energy, climate, sustainable development and sustainable lifestyle issues. Her clients have included the UN Environment Programme, International Renewable Energy Agency, World Bank / IFC, UN Food and Agriculture Organization, REN21, Germany’s GIZ, World Resources Institute, Hot or Cool Institute, Food & Water Watch and Generation180.

Previously, Lisa spent nearly two decades at the Worldwatch Institute, where she served as a researcher and later senior editor. As a member of Worldwatch’s team of experts, she synthesized complex scientific data and policy materials into accessible information for decision makers, educators, the media and the general public. She edited several editions of Worldwatch’s annual State of the World report and monograph series, distributed globally in dozens of languages.

Lisa also served for nearly a decade as director of communications and later senior editor at the Center for a New American Dream, helping to raise the profile of sustainable consumption in the United States.
