Originally from Luanda, Angola, Edna Catumbela is a visual and information designer who helps make sustainability easier to understand through accessible and engaging communication. She specializes in translating complex research into visuals, digital content and learning tools that help organizations share ideas clearly and connect with audiences.
Edna brings nearly a decade of experience across information design, visual communication, project management, data visualization, digital storytelling, workshops, guides and impact reports. Her work focuses on making information more compelling and actionable for people working across sustainability, education and social impact.
Through her continued work with OneEarth Living, Edna has supported projects with Canadian Geographic, IKEA Canada, Vancity, C40 Cities, the Hot or Cool Institute and the United Nations Environment Programme. She works as an independent consultant with clients globally, leading website redesigns and visual communication projects focused on clarity, usability and engagement.
Edna’s practice combines creativity, strategy, and strong technical skills, shaped by a background in architecture, building science and biophilic design. Before focusing on circular economy and sustainable lifestyles communication in Canada, she led biophilic design work with the International Living Future Institute in the United States. Edna holds a Master of Science in Building Science, a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, and a Certificate in Global Business.
Her work is rooted in helping ideas make sense, stories feel clear, and audiences move from understanding to action.
